MT-2FA

The MT-2FA (MT-to-2 Fiber Array) is a compact, high-precision branching optical component designed to transition a multi-fiber MT interface into two independent, single-channel optical paths. Consisting of a precision MT ferrule on one end that splits into two discrete fiber pigtails (often with protective boots), it provides a highly flexible and space-saving solution for intra-module routing, fan-out connections, and optical testing. It is widely used in high-speed optical transceivers, active optical cables (AOC), and photonic packaging where a 2-channel breakout is required.

Product Features:

Low Insertion Loss with Precision Alignment
Employing a high-precision coupling structure based on an MT ferrule and V-groove fiber array, the product achieves insertion loss of ≤0.50 dB and return loss up to ≥60 dB, ensuring efficient and stable optical signal transmission within the module.

Flexible Customization
The product offers flexible structural dimensions and supports multi-dimensional customization, including polish angle, fiber count, fiber pitch, and ferrule type, enabling adaptation to different customers’ optical module designs.

High-Density Integration
Designed to meet the internal space requirements of compact high-speed optical modules such as QSFP-DD and OSFP, it supports the parallel transmission requirements of 400G/800G and future higher-capacity optical interconnects.

Applications:

MT-2FA fiber arrays are widely used in internal optical coupling applications for high-speed optical modules, including:

400G/800G optical modules: internal optical path connections in optical transceiver modules in QSFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP, and other package form factors

Silicon photonics coupling: edge coupling and optical I/O interfaces for silicon photonic chips

Laser/detector array coupling: efficient optical transmission from LD to fiber and from fiber to PD arrays

CPO (Co-Packaged Optics): high-density optical interconnect solutions for next-generation data centers

Parallel optical modules and active optical cables: optoelectronic conversion components in multi-channel parallel optical transmission systems
