MFD Matched Fiber Array

MFD Matched Fiber Array is a precision-engineered fiber array that bridges the mode-field mismatch between standard single-mode fibers (≈10 μm MFD) and small-mode-field photonic waveguides, such as silicon photonics (SiPh) and indium phosphide (InP) platforms. By fusion-splicing ultra-high numerical aperture (UHNA) fiber to conventional SM or PM fiber within 7 mm of the array facet, it enables low-loss, high-efficiency optical coupling for next-generation integrated photonic transceivers and co-packaged optics.

Applications:
Silicon Photonics Transceiver Coupling
The primary application is coupling standard SMF/PMF to silicon photonic transceiver modules (100G/400G/800G and beyond), where the small MFD of SiPh waveguides demands a matched fiber mode field for efficient edge or grating coupling.
Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Packaging
Serves as the fiber-to-chip interface in co-packaged optics (CPO) and photonic integrated circuit assemblies, where mode-field matching is critical for reducing coupling loss and relaxing alignment tolerances in passive assembly.
Optical Waveguide & Array Coupling
Deployed in coupling to waveguide arrays, arrayed waveguide gratings (AWG), and multi-channel photonic test setups requiring low-loss, multi-channel fiber-to-waveguide interfaces.
Compliance & Quality:
Manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems and fully RoHS compliant. Each fiber array undergoes 100% insertion loss, return loss, and end-face geometry verification to ensure lot-to-lot consistency and field reliability.
