Regulations For Laying FTTH Optical Cables


When laying FTTH fiber optic cable, the following regulations should be followed

(1) The type of residential building, environmental conditions, and the laying route of the existing cables should be considered before the laying of the optical fiber cable. At the same time, it is necessary to make a comprehensive judgment on the economy, safety, the convenience of future maintenance, and user satisfaction of the construction;


(2) The existing household concealed pipes should be used to lay household optical cables as much as possible. For residential buildings without concealed pipes or residential buildings where concealed pipes cannot be used, it is advisable to lay butterfly-shaped lead-in optical cables by laying corrugated pipes in the structure;


(3) For residential buildings with vertical wiring bridges, it is advisable to install corrugated pipes and floor passage boxes in the bridges to pass through the butterfly-shaped lead-in optical cables. If there is no space to install corrugated pipes in the bridge frame, winding pipes will be applied to wrap the butterfly-shaped drop cable laid inside to protect the optical cables;


(4) Due to the poor waterproof performance of the butterfly lead-out cable, long-term submersion underwater is prone to lose and reduced service life, so in general scenarios is not suitable for the direct laying of this fiber optic cable in the underground pipeline, the need for another program plan to lay the cable;


(5) The laying of the butterfly introduction cable should meet the requirements, the minimum bending radius of the cable should not be less than 30 mm during the laying process, and the minimum bending radius after fixing should not be less than 15 mm;


(6) The traction force of the butterfly cable lead-in should not exceed 80% of the allowable cable tension: its instantaneous maximum traction force should also not exceed 100%, the main traction force of the fiber optic cable should be added to the reinforcing member of the introduced cable;


(7) The butterfly-shaped lead wire should be standardized to use cable reel j for storage, for cable laying operations, the use of a cable tray can make the cable reel can automatically rotate, but also to avoid preventing cable entanglement and damage;


(8) During the installation of the optical cable, strict attention should be paid to the tensile strength and bending radius of the optical fiber in order to protect it from being entangled, twisted, damaged, or trampled;


(9) In the process of laying the fiber optic cable, if any suspicious situation is found, the fiber optic cable should be tested in time to confirm whether the fiber is in good condition;


(10) After the butterfly-shaped lead-in optical cable is laid in households, the length reserved for the production of optical fiber mechanical connection plugs should be: 1.0 m is reserved on the side of the optical fiber distribution box or optical distribution box, and the household information distribution box or optical fiber Reserve 0.5 m on one side of the panel socket;


(11) Make optical fiber mechanical splicing connectors in a clean environment as much as possible, and keep your fingers clean;


(12) After laying the home optical cable, it should be tested with a light source and an optical power meter. The optical attenuation values ​​of the home optical cable section at 1310 nm and 1490 nm wavelengths should be less than 1.5 dB. 1.5 dB, it should be repaired, if it has not been improved after the repair, it is necessary to re-make the optical fiber mechanical connection plug or re-lay the optical cable;


(13) After the construction of the household optical cable is completed, the user is required to sign the completion confirmation form and record the measured light attenuation value of the household optical cable section on the confirmation form for future maintenance reference.
